This master plan for the new multi-day walk was finalised after public feedback on the Tweed Byron Hinterland Walk draft master plan. The walk traverses the traditional lands of the Widjabul Wia-bal and Minjungbal people of the Bundjalung Nation.

The Kosciuszko National Park Wild Horse Heritage Management Plan has been amended to authorise aerial shooting as a control method.
